Tommie & The Bartender Dot Com expires after the summer…
…so, if you’re wondering where we’re at now and what we’re up to…here’s the latest.
Craig is still part of the morning show on 95.3…and if you haven’t heard him, he sounds fantastic. He’s also doing a bit of double-duty by helping out on 95.7 WAOR.
Me? I’m still “on the beach”, although I’m working weekends on my old stomping grounds…Rock 107 WIRX in Benton Harbor. I’m also still trying to arrange a publisher for my novel. You can follow my progress at http://whereisdavidprast.com.
But there won’t be anymore updates on this website. Point your browsers at http://iamtommielee.com if you want to keep up with me.
Again, a big thanks to everyone who loved the show and made it so fun to do.
Talk to you soon.
- Tommie
Here’s The Audio Of Our Last Show
Big thanks to all of our guests, all of our clients, and most importantly all of you listeners who made our show such a great time. Here’s the audio in four parts of our last show. Right click to download on mp3, and we’ll talk to you somewhere down the road, I’m sure.
Remember: WAOR didn’t go away. Find it on 95.7 FM in South Bend or online at http://www.waor.com
Well…”we gone”.
Here’s the last picture taken of us on our final day as Tommie & The Bartender (taken by a friend, I’d forgoten how grainy Blackberry cameras are), while we were at The Backer.
We really appreciate all of the love you guys gave us during our 4 years (and one week) on the air together on 95.3 WAOR.
What’s next for us?
Craig is doing sports in the moring right here:
And as for Tommie…well, the search is on. I’ll keep you posted on facebook.
Best wishes to all of you. I’ll be posting the audio of our last show at some point (still cutting it together).
Towmaster brings us a cake
Towmaster has been a loyal piece of the morning show since it’s infancy, and we really apreciate him.
Thanks, Brutha. And many thanks to all of you who heard us one morning over the last four years and decided we needed to have food brought in to us. Kept us alive more often than you know.

Ernie Harwell Is Dead, And That Really Sucks
I grew up in Northern Michigan, listening to the southern drawl of one of the greatest baseball announcers ever.
Fishing on the AuSable with my friends…listening to a plastic dial radio at Boy Scout Summer Camp…hunting trips off F-41…wherever I went as a kid, chances are Ernie was calling a game on some station or another.
I didn’t grow up to be a Tigers fan…but just once I would have loved to have been in the stands and snagged a foul ball. Just to see, if by some miracle, he’d really say “…and a little boy from Oscoda just got himself a souvenir!”
Another piece of how cool it was to grow up in Michigan is gone. We really, really cherished Ernie as a State Institution. Rest In Peace, sir.
Tuesday Rock Roundup for May 4th
Bret Michaels is walking, his sister Michelle Sychak said in a radio interview yesterday. Although he remains in intensive care since suffering a brain hemorrhage more than a week ago, Bret’s sister said he “was definitely doing better — he was kind of getting up and started to walk a bit.” His doctors will hold a press conference today with more details on his progress.
Robert Plant was supposed to be working on a follow-up to his Grammy-winning album with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand, but that seems to have been put on the backburner. In an interview on a U.K. T.V. show, Plant says, “We go dancing together, but she’s gone back to her old band, back to the bluegrass stuff, and I’m with another band now in Nashville.”
Roger Waters will be on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night.
Speaking of late night…Max Weinberg will reportedly not be back in the bandleader role when Conan O’Brien starts his new late-night show in the fall, that according to Al Kooper whose band includes members of Conan’s band.

The LAST Vinyl Monday on the Tommie & The Bartender Show
…after much consideration, Vinyl Monday’s going out on May 3rd with the flip side of the way it began. The very first one we did was Side One of Dark Side Of The Moon, so we’ll wrap it up with Side Two.
And you probably thought I’d play Rush, didn’t you?
Thanks to everyone for making this such a fun project every week for the last three years!
