Paul McCartney will be back on the road this year as he announces his Up and Coming tour. The tour will see him playing unique venues, places and locations; cities he’s never played and familiar markets he hasn’t visited for a while. C’mon, South Bend…(crosses fingers)
Things are certainly looking up for Aerosmith. Just weeks after talking about replacing Steven Tyler, they look to be putting aside their differences with the Demon of Screamin’ and getting ready to tour South America and Europe this summer. Guitarist Joe Perry apparently has finally sat down with Tyler, writing on his Twitter page, “Steven’s looking good when we talked about South America shows. Looking forward to playing the Aerosmith shows as much as the upcoming Joe Perry Project shows.”
Elton John says his comment to Parade magazine that Jesus Christ was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man was not supposed to be made public. He told WGN TV, “Everyone has their own idea. If I offended anybody, I don’t see why they should be offended by it because I’m not saying that’s how he definitely was. And, you know, we each have our own idea of what religion should be and our faith should be. I do believe in Jesus Christ, and I do believe he was a wonderful man. And that’s my view of him. I don’t really want to cause a controversy, and I didn’t know it was going to be a sidebar to an article that was a great article… I can’t do anything about it, and I’m afraid I’m a bit of a lightning rod for these situations.”
Steve Miller is putting his money where his mouth is. During his performance Saturday in Anaheim, California at a benefit for the Cal State Fullerton Scholarship Program, he announced, “If you can do it, so can I,” and kicked in 25-thousand dollars to the fund. CSUF president Milton Gordon tells the school’s Daily Titan, “It was certainly a surprise to me. I had no idea he was going to do that.”
