KEEN's New Classic Hiking Boot
In the beginning KEEN was all about hybrids and sandals, but over the last couple of years the US brand's range has expanded to take in approach shoes, hiking mids and boots, insulated cold weather footwear and even lightweight minimalist running shoes and, for next spring, there's a new kid on the hiking block in the form of the all new KEEN Glarus boot .
That, up there is what it looks like and it's fairly obviously an all-leather hiker and trekker with classic lines. It's a mid sort of cut made from waterproof, premium, full grain leather backed up with a KEEN.DRY waterproof and breathable membrane. Lacing is taken care of with a combination of speed hooks and traditional pivoting rings.
Underfoot there's a dual density PU and EVA mid-sole for cushioning, an ESS shank for strategic stiffening and, TPU inserts under the arch and outside of the heel increaser stability. Grip is courtesy of a carbon rubber outsole with chunky 4mm multi-directional lugs plus KEEN's signature rubber toe bumper protection zone. Finally, the KEEN.ZORB insole incorporates a lightweight EVA foam insert for yet more shock protection.
