Today, the Hamilton Township business owner – like others grappling with an enduring economic downturn – said he would simply like to “pay my bills and feed my family” – wife Angelica Sanchez and four children. “I don’t need to be rich.”
This week, the entrepreneur will open his newest apparel store, Sneaker House Outlet, in the Super Foodtown shopping center in Smithville. The 2,300-square-foot shop, formerly the site of Sherlock’s Books, features brand-name sneakers (Puma, Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Fila) and clothing (Roca Wear, Baby Phat, Apple Barrel, Timberland) aimed at children, teens and young adults.
Amparo said his prices are more than competitive; no pair of sneakers costs more than $39.95, and some generic brands go for as little as $15 and $20. He also sells boots, socks, hosiery and leggings, and other accessories.
